It’s that time of year again. As sure as we’re going to be bombarded with a flurry of swirling winds, cold showers and pelting hale, we’re gearing up for the one day of the year when seeing Batman walking down the road is completely normal: Halloween. It’s a season of spooky fun, candy apples and painted faces, as children and adults alike head out to join in the festivities, and battle against their friends for the title of best costume.
However, there are some people that may be finding it difficult to decide on how to celebrate Halloween, as they don’t really know what kind of events are taking place at this time of year. Some of us just end up watching a scary film with friends or going to a friend’s party, but there’s a lot going on for Halloween in Manchester this year, and we’re going to give you a brief rundown of what you can expect…
Any word ending in the English language ending with “tacular” is bound to be a good thing. Well, the annual Halloween Spooktacular in Manchester is certainly not an exception to the rule, and it’s certainly the place to be if you want to celebrate the season in style. The event is being held on Saturday 29th October at Old Granada Studios, and tickets are being sold for £20 per head. This one is certainly for adults, as the spooky dj’s and terrifying costumes are sure to result in one great party!
If you happen to be out in the centre of Manchester on October 30th and end up getting a bit of a fright, then just try not to panic- it’s just the Manchester Halloween Parade. To prevent the risk of getting yourself all scared and anxious, then why not be smart about it and join in with the parade instead? The parade meets at The Printworks ready to start at 6pm, and we recommend that you register for the event beforehand, as only 2,500 people are allowed to participate.
If you’re celebrating this Halloween with your family, then the Halloween Ghost Train at the East Lancashire Railway is fun for all the children. When you board the train, you’ll be joined by spooky clowns and freaks that will be making you jump and get into the Halloween spirit. This certainly isn’t for the faint-hearted, but we guarantee that it’s a great day out for spooky fun with all the family!
