Spices are the perfect pinch of flavour we love to add to our favourite dishes, but what many people don’t know is that most herbs and spices are also packed with essential nutrients that can help boost our health.

When winter creeps in and the temperature drops, colds and flus seem to bound from house to house, leaving us all feeling a bit sorry for ourselves at some point. Cinnamon is almost synonymous with Christmas time; you can smell it in the air. Sprinkled into hot drinks, cakes, juices and stews and curries, it will help act as natural medicine, staving off winter colds and give you that antioxidant boost to help you fight inflammation and sooth your insides.

Another spice that goes hand-in-hand with winter is cloves. This is the ultimate winter staple and is packed with vitamins, minerals and fibre to help protect against the cold.
