Must Try: Halal Foods From Around The World

March 1, 2019

No matter where you travel to in the world, Halal food isn’t hard to find. There are even some countries out there that have some incredible halal dishes that should be at the top of everyone’s list of foods to try before they die.

We take a look at some of the best halal dishes the world has to offer from London to China:

  1. Biang Biang Noodles

For a bowl of warming and heartening noodles there is little better than a bowl of Biang Biang Mian from Xi’An, China. This is a noodle lover’s heaven as the traditional noodles are thick and wide and are made from wheat flour, oil and egg to give it a chewier consistency. The noodles are flash boiled before being served with vinegar, diced garlic, red chillies and boiled baby bok choy.

  1. Nasi Lamek

Malaysia’s national dish should be high on every halal food lover’s list. Although the dish was initially created as a breakfast staple, today, the dish is eaten for any meal of the day – every meal of the day if you like it enough. The dish consists of spicy sambal, sliced cucumber, fragrant coconut rice, roasted peanuts, ikan bilis (dried anchovies) and topped off with a hardboiled egg.

  1. Turkish Halal Breakfast

Some countries just know exactly how to start the day the right way. Turkey is one of those countries. Their day begins with a collection of small sweet and savoury plates that everyone can share; there are cheeses, sliced cold meats, eggs and freshly baked breads with a collection of fruit preserves, honey and butter.
