Here Are Some Record-Breaking Curries

October 17, 2016

Let’s face it, we all enjoy a good curry. Whether it’s to conquer hunger at lunchtime, reward ourselves after a hard day’s work, or a treat on the weekend- there is never a bad time of day for you to have a curry. From chicken tikka masala to lamb rogan josh, Indian cuisine offers you so much choice that it can supply whatever it is you’re craving, and will really set those taste buds sparkling as you enjoy each mouthful.

Indian cuisine is a remarkable thing that has taken the world by storm, and we’re here at Nawaab to go through some of the most incredible bits of Indian cooking ever known to man. So sit back, relax, and enjoy as we introduce you to record-breaking pieces of Indian cooking.

  • Largest Ever Curry

If you’ve ever ordered a curry and felt like you could’ve eaten a whole lot more of it, then maybe you should give this a try. The largest curry ever made was by the Indian Chefs and Culinary Association in Singapore back in August of last year. The curry weighed an absolutely staggering 15.34 tonnes, and was created as part of an Asian culinary event.

  • Longest Curry Delivery

Have you ever ordered an Indian takeaway and felt like the restaurant were taking far too long to deliver? If so, then maybe spare a thought for Jon Wise and James Crisp. They ordered a curry to the Daily Sport offices in Manchester- the only problem is it was coming all the way from The Raj Mahal Restaurant in New Zealand! The total distance amounted to 11,701 miles, and so we’re pretty sure it would have been cold by the time it got there.

  • Largest Indian Pancake Spun

Okay, so this one isn’t curry related- but at least it still relates to Indian cuisine, and it’s so impressive we just couldn’t leave it out. An Indian pancake is one that is spun around to make it, and the largest Indian pancake in history measures a whopping 76cm in diameter!

Here at Nawaab, we appreciate just how special a curry can be, and this certainly comes across in our marvellous menu at our Indian restaurant in London! If you’re in need of something memorable to eat, then please don’t hesitate to get in contact with our dedicated team!
