September is drawing to a close and that means winter is peering at us from around the corner. Along with the promise of cold blasts of wind and sheets of rain, you might find yourself in a position where you aren’t exactly sure what to do with your free time in the colder months. The days of relaxing in a sunny beer garden or having a picnic in the park seem to be over for another year, as we brace ourselves for another few months of turning the heating on.
Basically, it can be difficult to make the most of cities like Manchester in the colder months. The weather just isn’t what it once was, and you might prefer the idea of staying at home, curled up in front of the fireplace. But Manchester offers a wealth of fantastic activities for you to make the most of during the colder months. Of course, a great meal at Nawaab is one of these options, however we’re here today to go through how else you can keep yourself busy over the autumn and winter period.
If you always enjoy a game of bowling, then why not head up to All Star Lanes in Deansgate? This is a fantastic venue for friends and family to get together and knock some pins down, which is incredibly stylish in its design. They also offer great food and drink facilities, and All Star Lanes is a great way for you to spend an evening when it’s cold outside. Their six lanes have been flown over from USA, and there are always expert technicians on hand to help if you find yourself stuck in the gutter!
If you’re football mad, then the National Football Museum at Urbis in the centre of Manchester. This is a fantastic day out for all the family or for just you and a few friends. You can learn all about the rich history of your favourite club and read up on the origins of the game. You can take in the astonishing 1966 World Cup Exhibition, gaze at the Hall of Fame, or have a go at the various games and challenges that are spaced out around the museum. Oh, and the best thing of all-it’s absolutely free!
When it gets really cold in the middle of December, you’ll find that the buzz around Christmas is really picking up across the city. If you’re after a festive day out with the kids, then you should certainly consider heading to Winter Wonderland in Event City. This is a great attraction for children (and adults) of all ages. The event runs from 10th December till 1st January, and boasts its very own live reindeer, countless rides and tag line that states it is “the UK’s largest indoor Christmas theme park.”
Manchester is full of great things for you to do across the colder months of the year, and these are just a select few of the very best ways to occupy your time. At the top of your list, however, should be a trip to our fantastic Indian restaurant in Manchester, where our delicious curries will certainly warm your cockles in time for winter!
