Hot on the heels of the new website launch; Nawaab is proud to reveal that work is underway to bring Manchester’s favourite restaurant to London. Nawaab London has been given official clearance by the councils and authorities to bring authentic Indian and Pakistani cuisine to the capital.
The new premises will be comparable in size to the beloved Nawaab Manchester site with a large restaurant and three bespoke banqueting suites. This will allow for Nawaab to continue their policy of catering for large events whilst serving up delicious Indian food to smaller parties on a nightly basis.
The new home of London Nawaab is the historic and much-loved old Hoover building in Perivale, near Wembley. This 80 year-old Art Deco building is Grade II listed and considered by many to be one of the most iconic structures in London. Art Deco London has even described the old Hoover building as being ‘possibly the finest Art Deco structure in Britain.’
Fittingly, Nawaab London will be based in build No.7 of this structure, the former site of the company’s main canteen. This building is one of the few remnants of the structure that was destroyed after Hoover vacated the property in the early 1980s. The beauty of building No.7 and its status as a Grade II listed building saved it from being demolished.
The building is known to many as a landmark which indicates their entry into the centre of London and even inspired a song from legendary singer songwriter Elvis Costello.
Nawaab London will continue the restaurant’s tradition of providing exceptional Indian and Pakistani cuisine in elegant surroundings. Small and large parties alike will be welcomed through the doors of Nawaab London with the same welcoming service as its Manchester sister.
At Nawaab Manchester, we strongly believe that our successes are thanks to a dedicated and skilled team of workers. From the experienced chefs to the attentive serving staff; all of our team work tirelessly to ensure that everybody’s Nawaab experience is of the highest level.
This now means that Nawaab fans from London won’t have to make the 400 miles round trip from their home to Nawaab Manchester.
Nawaab London is set to open in early 2014 with a number of celebrations and special events planned to mark the opening. Like the Nawaab London Facebook page to keep up-to-date with all of the latest developments and pictures from the project.
