November 4, 2015

TV journalist Reham Khan made her first public appearance at Royal Nawaab Manchester, following the announcement of her impending divorce from former cricketer and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan.

Speaking to delegates at the Manchester International Media Conference, held at Nawaab’s on Tuesday (3rd November) she touched upon her relationship with the former Pakistani cricket captain, saying that anyone could hit a six but the real challenge lay in sustaining a slow partnership spanning a century. She also added that she believed people’s personal life should be kept private.

Commenting on the state of the media in Pakistan, she suggested that laziness was the problem that Pakistani media and journalism faced.

She also said that Pakistani media did not follow important issues as big news barely survived a day before being swept aside. She complained that the media also focused on negativity, sidelining positive news.

The conference was a chance for people to get pictures with their favourite TV stars, as well as a three course dinner.

At the event five Lifetime Achievement Awards were given to Mujahid Brailvi, Mujeeb ur Rehman Shami, Hasan Nisar, Altaf Hasan Qureshee, and Ataul Huq Qasmi
