What to Eat At Suhoor

May 24, 2017

Ramadan is fast approaching and the team here at Royal Nawaab want to ensure that all of our readers are able to make the most of the celebration. By definition, Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim year and, during that time, strict fasting is observed by the majority of Muslims from dawn until sunset. Breakfast is a very important part of the day and Suhoor is the meal that is had before the beginning of the days fast. In this blog, we are going to tell you some energy releasing foods that are perfect for Suhoor…

  • Fibre is an important nutrient that we must consume everyday as it is essential for digestion. In addition to this, it also helps us stay full! Making fibre a part of your Suhoor is easy and the foods which provide the best sources include beans, whole grains, berries, pears and apples. Try preparing bran muffins beforehand as a perfect source of dietary fibre in the early morning.
  • Another important food in the diet is protein because it is a valuable source of energy and can help in delaying hunger pangs that occur during the day’s fast. Foods which offer an excellent source of protein that you may add to your Suhoor include eggs, yogurt, fish and white meat. A meal that combines some of these ingredients includes beans spread on whole wheat toast topped with a runny friend egg.

Ramadan begins on the evening of Friday 26th May 2017 and ends on the evening of Saturday 24th June 2017. Here at the best Indian restaurant in London, we want to wish all who will be celebrating Ramadan a safe fast!
