What’s on in Manchester this May?

April 6, 2015

If you’re visiting Manchester’s Royal Nawaab in May, but you’re struggling with what to do in Manchester, we have collected a list of fun May activities.

2.8 Hours Later 1-2 May & 8-9 May

We all knew the day would come. We had been warned through literature, film and television, but we all assumed it was impossible.

The Zombie outbreak has occurred and it’s your chance to survive it. 2.8 Hours Later is a citywide epic tag game based around the premise that the zombie outbreak began 5 years ago and you have a chance to find a cure in a lab hidden in the city.

Come along and try to save humanity while being hunted by marauding zombies intent on eating you. Then celebrate the end of the game at the Zombie Disco and bar until the early hours of the morning.

Manchester After Hours 14 May

You’ve probably seen Manchester’s glorious museums, libraries and other cultural destinations in daylight, but have you ever wondered what they’d be like in the dark. If you have, you can experience them in the Manchester After Hours 2015.

You may have heard of London’s Museums at Night, well this is Manchester’s alternative.

Visit Chetham’s Library where the favoured artists of Manchester will be entrenched. Or travel to the Imperial War Museum to listen to former Poet-Laureate, Sir Andrew Motion, who will premier a live performance to mark the 70th anniversary of V-J Day and the bombing of Hiroshima. With the itinerary having not been released yet, keep your eyes peeled for more information.

Dot-to-Dot Festival 22-24 May

The music festival you cannot miss this May is the Dot-to-Dot Festival. Join them in celebrating their tenth birthday with some of the hottest new artists such as Saint Raymond, Best Coast and The Wytches.

There is no single venue and the artists will be spread out throughout the city. Some of the venues include Manchester Cathedral, Central Methodist Hall, Night and Day, Ruby Lounge and many others.

Buy your tickets and see the hottest new talents to hit the music scene this May.

Manchester Fashion Week 26-28 May

For the Fashionistas, there is Manchester Fashion Week. You can see clothing designs from top designers including Officers Club, Jigsaw, Blue Inc and Childsplay Clothing. Manchester’s Fashion Week is the place to be this May to see some of the newest fashion trends first.

Manchester Film and Comic Con 30-31 May

If you’re a film buff, cosplay enthusiast or just a little curious about what goes on in the Comic Con community, then you should visit the Manchester Film and Comic Con taking place at the end of May.

You can meet some of your favourite stars from TV and films, including Kenny Baker from Star Wars (R2-D2), Harry Melling from Harry Potter (Dudley Dursley) and Samuel Anderson from Doctor Who (Danny Pink).

When you’re feeling hungry and want somewhere to eat before or after any of these events, why not take a trip to Royal Nawaab for a night of fantastic food and wonderful company.
