3 Delicious Pakistani Snacks

March 2, 2020

Pakistani cuisine is characterised by its implementation of spice and flavour and is heavily influenced by the regional cooking traditions found in India, Central Asia and the Mughal legacy of southern Asia. Here at Royal Nawaab, we pride ourselves on our array of traditional Pakistani dishes that are able to provide our customers with an authentic dining experience. Read on as we go over three popular Pakistani snacks that are delicious yet satisfying…

Aloo Tikki

As a popular snack made from spiced potato patties, Aloo Tikki is eaten as a snack and is also a popular street food found in India and Pakistan. After all, it utilises basic ingredients like mashed potato and an egg wash and the spices that are used can be altered with ease in order to suit the preference of the consumer. In fact, these crispy snacks are often dipped in a mint or green chutney in order to enhance their flavour.

Chana Chaat

In layman’s terms, Chana Chaat is the Desi version of a simple salad and it is made with a chickpea base and a variety of vegetables like onions, green chillies and tomatoes. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of Chana Chaat is that its heat factor relies on the implementation of green chillies, however the use of spices like red chilli powder, ground cumin, chaat masala and fresh coriander allows this salad snack to hit the spot every time.

Chapli Kebab

The kebab is a widely popular dish in Pakistani and a Chapli Kebab implements South Asian spices in order to create an exciting snack that will leave the taste buds wanting more. In fact, the meat is flattened into circles that almost resemble a western burger and are then shallow fried in oil with a charred exterior in order to give them a characteristic and recognisable style.

With an ethos of fresh food and fine ingredients, the team here at Royal Nawaab understand the importance of high-quality cuisine.
